Within the framework of the RETEACH Project, funded by the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme, a national discussion on “Reforming teacher education towards green and digital transition in Mongolia”was successfully held at the Ministry of Education.
The main objective of the discussion was to support the transformation of Mongolia's teacher education system in line with green and digital transitions, strengthen teachers' professional competencies, and gather stakeholders' feedback and recommendations for the 2027–2032 medium-term policy document.
The event brought together representatives from the Ministry of Education, the Mongolian National Institute for Educational Research, the General Authority for Education, universities and higher education institutions, secondary school administrators and teachers, researchers, students, and RETEACH project partner institutions.
The discussion focused on three key topics
- Implementation and achievements of the RETEACH Project;
- Strategic Directions for the Green and Digital Transformation of Teacher Education (2027–2032)
- Green and Digital Competency Framework for Teachers.
Participants actively exchanged views and provided valuable feedback and recommendations on the proposed policy directions and competency framework. The recommendations collected during the discussion will be considered in further refining the policy document and guiding future implementation activities. This national discussion marked an important step towards developing a teacher education system based on green and digital competencies, improving the quality and accessibility of teacher education, and promoting sustainable development in Mongolia's education sector.
