The capacity-building training of the Erasmus+RETEACH was successfully held in Palermo, Italy, from June 23 to 25 under the theme “EU Policy in Teacher Education”. Representatives from the Ministry of Education, General Authority for Education, Mongolian National Institute for Educational Research, Otgontenger university, Mongolian National University of Education, Eastern Branch School of the National University of Mongolia, Hangai University and Darkhan Institute are participating in the training.
EU partners—Universitatea TRANSILVANIA din Brasov UNITBV, Università degli Studi di Palermo UNIPA, and CESIE ETS—are leading the sessions as main trainers, sharing their valuable knowledge and experience in the field of teacher education. The training is being held with the warm hospitality and excellent organization of CESIE in beautiful Palermo.
On the first day of the training, the EU partners providing technical assistance within the project shared an overview of European teacher education programs, best practices, implementation tools, practical experiences, future perspectives of teacher education in higher education, and similar project initiatives.
The core content of the training focused on implementing various measures aimed at supporting teachers’ professional development, integrating green initiatives with technology, developing digital and green education platforms, promoting policies to foster knowledgeable and responsible citizens, exploring future directions of digital education, conducting interdisciplinary and sustainable development research, strengthening teachers’ professional and digital competencies, introducing best practices, and developing teacher education programs that promote collaboration between universities and industry. The importance of developing and implementing policy documents in these areas was highlighted.
